Celebrating over 70+ Years as
San Mateo Leading Business Organization
Year Founded: 1939
Chair of the Board
San Mateo Area
Chamber at Work
It has been my pleasure to serve as the Chairman of the San Mateo Area Chamber of Commerce this past year and I look forward to another term. One of our tasks at the Chamber is to let our members know of the many resources the Chamber offers. We are known for our great mixers, business exposure opportunities, vendor sourcing for just about anything and a confidence that doing business with one of our members will be a positive experience.
A little known resource and a very powerful one, is the SCORE consulting program. Free to all members, the “Counselers to America’s Small Business” program will put you in touch with an experienced volunteer that can offer you their life experiences in the real world of business. Salient and candid, objective and accurate, the advice is confidential and specific to your own situation. Counselors are assigned based on the business classification so you have someone that has experience in your field and is relevant. They also offer workshop courses to teach you tools to improve your business operation. Free, competent advice from someone that has done it before, How does it get any better than that?
Take advantage of our services, information and programs. It is your Chamber, we serve to represent you to the community and make certain you have a voice in newly crafted legislation and policies enacted by local and state government. We are here to help you prosper!

Because of the
San Mateo Area Chamber of Commerce
…there is an office to respond to the thousands of inquiries about
our community and our business — your business!
…there are forums wherein the business community exchanges
views and positions, and a voice to express those views and
positions to other agencies.
…there are community promotion efforts to encourage purchasing
which leads to sales tax dollars for our government entities.
…there are meetings set up with city, county, and legislative groups
so that the business community can maintain personal contact.
…there is a political voice to keep our elected representatives aware
of the business community feelings on legislative actions and needs.
